Lavender Dragons and the Honeydew Lake

Once upon a time, in a kingdom so sweet,
Where the grass smelled of honey and flowers grew neat,
There lived a young princess, restless at night,
No matter the moon’s soft silvery light.

Her bed was a marvel with blankets so grand,
Her pillows were made of the finest in the land,
But her dreams, oh, they wandered, far out of reach,
Like shells on the shore of a faraway beach.

One twilight, as stars began their shy peek,
The princess walked out by Honeydew Creek.
The air smelled of sweetness, the lake shimmered bright,
Its ripples aglow in the magical night.

Suddenly, out of the lavender fields,
Came dragons with wings like shimmering shields.
Their scales were a hue of the lavender bloom,
And their breath filled the air with a calming perfume.

The princess stepped closer, her eyes open wide,
“Oh dragons so lovely, will you stay by my side?”
The largest one bowed, its eyes full of care,
“We’re here to help with your nighttime despair.”

They sang her a tune, soft, gentle, and sweet,
A lullaby danced on the lake at her feet.
The waves seemed to whisper, the stars seemed to glow,
As the princess’s eyelids began to dip low.

One dragon curled close, its warmth like a hug,
Another wove dreams like a soft velvet rug.
They promised her peace till the morning’s first light,
And guarded her dreams through the magical night.

From that evening onward, the princess would stray,
To Honeydew Lake at the end of each day.
The lavender dragons, her friends ever true,
Kept her nights restful, her skies always blue.

So if you’re restless and sleep doesn’t show,
Just think of the dragons and their calming glow.
Perhaps in your dreams, by the Honeydew Lake,
You’ll meet them yourself, as the stars softly wake.
